Next Up: Mykonos
Mykonos, the famed Greek, cosmopolitan mecca, is one of the most frequented destinations in Greek Islands. Full of character, The Island of the Winds dons some of the most popular beaches and night-clubs that the Aegean has to offer. Known as the Ibiza of Greeze, Mykonos’ summer club scene is one that’s to die for and we’re no strangers to the electric atmosphere.
Whether you’re heading there to relax, or intend on tiring with food and fun, Mykonos has an array of things to keep even the most mundane entertained. We’ve put together a list of our favorite night-life activities to enjoy while jet-setting for summer travel. Check them out!
Oniro Bar- Located at the Mkyonos View Hotel, Oniro Bar (also known as the Dream Bar) highlights the amazing view of Chora and Gialos. The atmosphere is relaxed and trendy, but the heat turns up as the night wears on. Drink the afternoon away with an amazing sunset view of colors, twinkling lights and soft music.
Cafe Veranda- Located in Chora, Cafe Veranda is one of the most famous wrap-around porches in all of Little Venice. While the cafe is known for it’s daytime, relaxed coffee atmosphere, at sunset, the champagne cocktails make for a relaxing spot to sit and chat before the evening plans kick in.
Nammos– For any New Yorker, Nammos is basically Bagatelle on the beach. Perched on Psarou Beach, next to the Mykonos Blue Hotel, Nammos is the place for socialites from around the world. As day turns in to night, the music gets louder and the bass calls you to the dance floor. This is the perfect spot for sunsnet, dinner or late night. Order the Octopus; thank us later.
Uno con Carne- If you’re looking for a fabulous dining experience that’s chic and casual, Uno offers an oasis of Argentinian-style steak and an array of oysters. The fun doesn’t stop there, however. Uno is widely known as a post-dinner cocktail spot on Panachrantou Street in Chora. Stop by between dinner and dancing for a glass of wine or one of their famous cocktails.
The Anchor plays blues, jazz, and classic rock for its 30-something clients, as do Argo, Stavros Irish Bar, Celebrities Bar, and Scandinavian Bar-Disco. Any of these mean a good time without the craziness of the late-night scene.
Paradise Club– Home to EDM lovers, Paradise is a cross between beach bar, terrace and full-on club. The heavy-hitters like Avicii and Afrojack have made appearances in the last year, and on top of that, the capacity is 5,000. If you’re in the mood for a crazy good time this top-two (of 100) club is the place to be.
Astra- The Greek word for stars, Astra is one of the most distinguished night-life spots on the island. Small, but mighty, this hot-spot hosts supermodels and royalty. Astra is home to some of the biggest players around the world, but don’t be discouraged, mere mortals are welcome, too.
We’re dying to get back to the beaches of Mykonos, but until then we’ll daydream here about the exceptional night-life. Up next…Monte Carlo!
